Hurricane Rita
Well, my family is getting some of its own on this go round. My aunt and uncle have evacuated from Houston. Their home is in a very low-lying area down in Clear Lake (on Armand Bayou behind the high school and across from UH-CLC if anyone knows the area very well). According to some of the weather models under discussion on the storm blogs at Weather Underground, Central and North Texas could experience 15-30 inches of rain depending on the storm track. My parents live in Dallas, I have an aunt and cousins in Lockhart and surrounding Caldwell County environs, and a cousin in Austin.
Not to mention tons of friends, more distant relations, and so forth.
Sigh.
