Political snark

In response to this post, http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slacktivist/2006/05/binry_code.html, I left this comment:

One of my favorite online chats ever was with a gentleman who insisted he didn’t need the government for anything, as he grew his own food and loaded his own ammunition. I asked him if he had lead and copper mines on his property, or by chance did he mail order his ammunition supplies? Which were in that case delivered by a uniformed Federal employee driving a government-owned vehicle on roads built and maintained by the government. He lost interest in talking to me shortly thereafter.

Manichaean dualism has a lot to answer for. Either that or it’s the fault of the Chamber of Deputies in revolutionary France.
