[photos] Hiking in the Hood
So, a few photos of today’s high altitude adventures with the_child and tillyjane. We did about two hours on the trail, at a leisurely pace, then rode the lift up to the Silcox station, and walked back down about 3/4 mile from the 7,000 foot line. Well, some of us walked…
Setting out early in the day from Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. This is at about 6,000 feet.

Mt. Jefferson, some fifty miles south. It’s difficult to tell in this photo, but the Sisters is visible just to the left of Mt. Jefferson, about ninety miles south.
A lupens flower. Both lowland and alpine versions can be found intermixed along the trail at this altitude.
