  1. If this guy is right about space colonization, then Arthur C. Clarke was wrong about comsats: his enthusiasm for nuclear pulse-detonation spacecraft is interesting but weirdly misplaced. (Estimates of specific impulse for an Orion drive are around 8000; far better than a NERVA type rocket, but far, far below what would be needed for continuous 0.1G average acceleration. Worse, in fact, than VASIMR.) Meanwhile, we get to EMP everything in orbit and give ourselves cancer from the fallout! Way to go!
