Death by EMP; we were sitting in our living room playing cards with the curtains open at night during the buildup to a thunderstorm. It was not raining. Ball lightening the size of a basketball came down toward our front lawn. We all saw it, and before we could remark on it, the ball lightning touched the ground and exploded. We all felt the EMP strongly, as if our brains had blacked out for an instant, and as if our hearts had skipped a beat. It was a very bad feeling and left us mildly sick in the stomach and a touch weak for an hour or so. Do quadrupeds propagate more through the ground, or do they perhaps catch more, like a bigger dish antenna, of the EMP?
