[photos] Orchids in San Francisco

Apropos of nothing in particular, I took some photos of orchid blossoms at the WitchNest, as well as the home of a friend of ‘s. I’m not much of a flower fancier, in truth — my gardening skills would kill astroturf — but I love the shapes and colors and curves you find in nature.

Love Orchids… I can’t grow them here to cold.. and no hot house.. I did have one a few years ago and it did quite well while we live in the South Florida area…
    You take great pictures…

Thank you. I thought they were lovely, and I’m glad the camera saw it, too.

Joe, what brand/type of camera are you using? I’m beginning to shop for a new one myself; I’m considering a DSLR model and am looking for recommendations. (and yes, you take lovely photos. One of these days, I’m going to ask permission to use one for reference for a painting) thanks!

It’s a Canon EOS Rebel Xti, which is about 2 generations old now, these particular photos shot with a stock lens. Some of my older photos were shot on a Canon PowerShot 550.

And feel free to use! That’s why I put the CC license on there. I’m always interested in seeing what people do with them, so if possible, share back when you’re done.
