Interrupting Gelastic Jew on trusting your process — She’s talking about piano, but this applies very well to writing.

Annals of linguistic prejudice — Interesting, rambling post from Language Log on dialect, culture and politics.
In Defense of Foxhole Atheists — Ah, Christianity. (Snurched from Scrivener’s Error.)

December 19th, 2009 at 12:50 pmI thought your link might be about this:
‘The Freedom From Religion Foundation erected its monument to “Atheists in Foxholes” in 1999 at Lake Hypatia, Alabama.’
http://www.ffrf.org/foxholes/
The existence of this monument pleases me.
I think I learned it this when Mary Kay put an atheists’ discussion group on the schedule at Potlatch (2007? 2008?) In that room, I also learned how very rare, even in that crowd, it is to have been raised an atheist, as I was.
