February 24th, 2010 at 5:21 pmTangentially related to the whole Apple/Amazon/Macmillan fiasco, I wonder if you’ve seen this. Apparently, Apple deleted a number of iPhone apps they deemed inappropriate, including some content offered by German publishers. The majority of the article concerns itself with a rather silly “Undress the page 3 girl” app, which won’t be a great loss to anyone, but buried in there is also that one of the apps Apple deleted was the digital edition of the German news magazine Stern because they disapproved of a few nude photos. Stern has featured naked women for as long as I remember; it’s nonetheless a proper news magazine.
So I wonder what this will mean for e-books and other apps offered for the iPad, particularly considering that erotica has been a driving force in the e-book market.
