June 27th, 2010 at 5:04 pmBurning is a very stupid method of dealing with an oil spill anyway. The best course of action would be to skim the oil off the water, pump it through a separator (optional, but recommended) and into the storage tanks of a ship. Using chemicals is already a bad idea (and may have made the problem worse in the long run), burning the oil is an act of last ditch desperation.
In short, nothing new in the Gulf then.
