Regarding that Dr. Laura person, the mind boggles, it really does. Whatever could’ve possessed anyone, let alone a woman who hosts a call-in advice show, to shout nasty racial slurs at a caller? This is so completely beyond the pale that one wonder why the woman wasn’t fired at once.

And since you’re quoting the David Bowie song “Ashes to Ashes” today, have you seen the British TV show Life on Mars and the sequel Ashes to Ashes, both obviously named after Bowie songs? They’re great speculative TV masquerading as vintage cop shows and both well worth watching (and likely available on Netflicks). Lots of great accents and colourful language for the language geek, too. Just make sure to stay away from the US remake of Life on Mars, which is utter crap, and stick to the British originals.
