June 6th, 2011 at 10:53 amIf the woman from the Scientific American is scared of the recent EHEC outbreak, then imagine living in the middle of the most affected region and being a member of the most susceptible demographic, adult women.
At least, I have access to a vegetable garden and greenhouse, so I can still eat lettuce and cucumbers I know are uncontaminated. But I haven’t had fresh tomatoes in two weeks now and I no longer eat out at all.
BTW, liquid manure was quickly fingered as a possible culprit here in Germany. The problem is that no one has been able to determine the source of the outbreak so far.
