[Personal]
[personal] Saturday – a movie and a banquet
Well, my calendar yesterday had largely been devoted to sleeping and vomiting. Given Friday’s chemofail, the day opened up nicely.

The lunch was reasonable but I had mixed reactions to the movie. The first Pirates of the Caribbean succeeded because it was utterly unselfconscious, and witty as hell. The interplay between Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa was genius. The second movie failed utterly as much for the lack of that pairing as anything else. I was entertained by the third movie, though it didn’t succeed for me as well as the first. In this new, fourth installment, they’ve somehow managed to drain the life out of Barbossa (so to speak, he’s already been dead once) and eliminate that spark of wit that carried the first and third movies. And the plot was kind of goofy and circular. Plus I’m pretty sure the Fountain of Youth was in Florida, and I’m pretty sure Florida doesn’t have craggy volcanic peaks and sea caves. But hey, maybe that’s just me.
Later in the day,

Today I am taking advantage of my continued schedule of consciousness and not throwing up to accomplish some lingering items of household management. Later,

For now, be well and do good. That’s my plan for the day, and hopefully yours.
