Physically, I’m feeling fairly good these days. The surgical wound still has three types of pain, but to of them are largely minimal now and the third is tolerable. The minimal pains are the incision itself, which is healing nicely; and the internal sutures of the severed abdominal muscles, which are still fairly uncomfortable. The tolerable pain is the continued distress in my lower right ribs, with a fainter echo on the corresponding lower left ribs which is either deferred pain or some sort of mild strain from favoring my right side.

Also last night as I was going to bed, I experienced a sharp, point-source pain a few inches above the incision. That continued through the night and into this morning. It feels like one of those post-operative gas bubbles one sometimes get, though it does seem a tad odd this only surfaced now, three weeks after surgery. If it continues through the day, I’ll call my surgeon’s office and ask if this is of concern. Annoying, yes; concerning, not yet.

Wrote 3,100 words on Sunspin yesterday. After three days of writing, the project is already over 8,500 words, so I’m setting the right pace for my goal of 60-70,000 words this month. I’m also on pace for the plot development, which is certainly more to the point. I’m feeling good about this.

Dreamt last night that I was involved in some kind of rugby grudge match. I was afraid of the game, of getting hurt, but couldn’t find any way of getting out of it. The meaning of this dream is left as an exercise for the reader.

That’s all the news that prints to fit.
