What Biden said was one of the most politically courageous things I’ve heard a politician say in years, maybe ever. Now will Obama stand up for his VP? What is sad is that what Biden said shouldn’t be such a big deal.

Regarding the French elections, I’m torn between relief that the revolting xenophobe Sarkozy is finally gone and worries that his successor will not support the policies to keep the Euro stable. But then, Mr Hollande may have more financial sense than it seems at first sight.
