I don’t really have the heart or the energy to do a full year in review. So here’s how 2012 feels to me in retrospect:

As far as it goes, I’ve got two different 2012 novellas coming out in two different forthcoming Year’s Best volumes, and I won an Audie this past year, and some other good stuff. Especially the sharp improvements in my personal life. So 2012 was not a wipe out, just very hard and frustrating.
Unfortunately, 2013 will almost certainly be a much worse and harder year than 2012, for cancer and related reasons.
So cancer cancer cancer redux.

If you decide it will be a joyous year, then it will be.

Let’s see, surgery, the harder end of six months of chemo, and serious emergent family issues. No, that’s not me deciding, that’s me commenting on some very hard forthcoming realities which I didn’t have to endure last year.
