Today is Ash Wednesday, which this abandoned missile silo reminds me of. You may want to consider going to an Ash Wednesday service – not out of religious feeling, but because it is a service about mortality. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. The officiant says, remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. It reminds me of the excellent reflections on mortality in your blog.
