Parking dispute sparks shooting at Home Depot — Because we are all safer with more guns. Just ask the 30,000 people who are surely proud to die every year to satisfy the conservative fetish for Second Amendment absolutism.
A Biblical Guide to Debunking the Heterosexual Agenda — Yup. This. It’s the divinely inspired word of God, right? (Via Slacktivist Fred Clark.)
Lindsey Graham`s lead Benghazi witness may have misled FBI — Dylan Davies claims to have been there the night terrorists attacked the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Davies’ account of that evening, and what he calls massive security failures leading up to the attack, were so damning that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) put a hold on all Obama administration nominations until he gets to the bottom of Davies’ serious allegations. Then Davies’ story went poof! — and was no more. Of course, no Republican will believe the new information, as they will simply see it as a successful coverup by the Obama administration. When you’re dealing with people who disdain evidence-based thinking, evidence that their thinking is wrong becomes meaningless.
Graham Goes Silent — Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was hogwild about the now-discredited 60 Minutes blockbuster in which fabricator-security contractor Dylan Davies recounted his nonexistent exploits the night of the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi more than a year ago. But after CBS finally retracted the story this morning (after dragging its collective heels for a week), Graham is now declining to discuss the story or the retraction. Odd. Usually Republicans just keep right on lying in the face of those liberal “facts” and “data”, since there’s hardly ever any accountability or consequence, and the lies help manufacture more angry white men. It’s not like Graham is at any risk of growing a conscience or anything.
Gay rights? NO! Immigration reform? NO! — House Republicans are acting out of a stubborn refusal to take any action that might be construed as agreement with President Obama. It doesn’t matter that it’s the right thing to do. It doesn’t matter if it’s the smart thing to do. They have convinced each other that it amounts to surrender.
