[travel] Leaving Las Austin

At gate 13 in the Austin airport, waiting for the nerd bird to San Jose. I misread my reservation and showed up even earlier than is my usual wont. (Which beats being late, I am well aware.)

Lake’s Law of Power Outlets is in full effect: there are at least six outlets in this gate area, and access to every single one of them is blocked by people who are not actually using them.

Potlatch this afternoon and onward. Y’all play nice.

[travel] Austin

Managed to have dinner with tonight, which was very nice. We went to Hula Hut, which is one of my favorite restaurants evar. (I miss Austin food.)

If you’re an Austin peep, I may be free for dinner Thursday night. I won’t know til late in the day, though, so this may not come off gracefully. Watch this space or my twitter feed for more details.

[travel] On the road again…

Off to Austin tomorrow. For Day Jobbery, though some socialization is possible. Watch this space.

Friday I fly from Austin to San Jose, to pop over to Sunnyvale for Potlatch. I am doing the writers workshop, and co-hosting the charity auction, and running a limeade Algonquin sometime Saturday afternoon.

After that, loitering a couple of days in the Bay Area, home middle of next week.

See some, all or none of you there.

[books] Things that make me smile

Here in DFW terminal C, I popped into the Hudson Bookseller concession. What to my wondering eyes should appear but a certain paperback, displayed faced? The mass market paperback of Mainspring Powell’s | Amazon thb | Audible ], over two months after its release date, still available on the very competitive airport bookstore shelves.
